For the Record: “I decided to become a musician at a very young age after playing in the middle school band for a few years. I knew I wanted to teach and perform then because I enjoyed it so much.

“My teaching method is fairly simple. I look at it as my job to listen to what the student’s goals are, and do whatever I can to help them achieve them, moving them from point A to point B.

“I’m inspired by the music of several musicians—almost too many to list. My three teachers in college impacted me in different ways, and all three shaped me greatly as an educator as well as a performer.

“I’m strictly a classical player in clarinet and I enjoy teaching that the most and encouraging students to love it.

“I am most inspired by people who live their passions, with hard work, humility, true risk-taking, and compassion, while being true to that passion and never giving up.”
